Kittens +  Grenade

Well - I can see where the idea came from. Layers of parted, almost raw, wet flesh.... add blood and, well. I'm none too fond of the expression, but like I said I can see the point.

I think it's vitally important that we are able to discuss it with irreverance and humor. I'd much rather refer to it, in a moment of sardonic self-gender loathing, as the Axe Wound, than held hostage to a tongue-tying We-don't-talk-about-THAT frame of mind. Humor overcomes fear and disgust in this instance, makes the subject more approachable and less intimidating.

Which wasn't exactly what you were getting at, I understand, but that's how I look at it. :)
::nods:: I do think we both have valid points. If we get *too* reverent about it, we don't talk about it; if we're too irreverent we can fall into the trap of using the same self-degrading language that is often used against us.... What you're saying is a good counterbalance to my view, and a very good point. ^_^

Oh, and since I don't think I've ever said, let it be known that I've been admiring your writings and art since, ooh, about 2001. ^_^
Eeeep. ::^_^::
I think it was actually your art that got me first, back when I didn't really know what furry was; then I hit on your Morality of Bestiality essay.... While it's not my personal leaning it doesn't repulse me, either, and I was awed that there were people on the Internet who were not only prepared to go out on a limb to make a case for something so controversial but actually did it with breathtaking aplomb and insight. From then on, I was hooked. ^_^
